A new survey by the Centre for Public Opinion Research has found that half of Polish citizens believe their country is providing too much assistance to Ukraine. The same proportion also opposes accepting Ukrainian refugees.

NV Nation reports that the poll shows 50 per cent of responders view the scale of aid to Ukraine and Ukrainians in Poland as excessive. But a slightly smaller share, 46 per cent, considers the assistance appropriate.

Just 48 per cent of Poles are backing the admissibility of Ukrainian refugees into the country. It is the lowest level since CBOS began tracking these attitudes in 2014, while 45 per cent oppose it.

Most respondents back restricting social benefits for Ukrainians. Fifty-eight per cent say only Ukrainians who work in Poland and pay taxes should qualify for state assistance programs.
