There have been talks about an allegation made by an American senator criticizing the Nigerian authorities of enabling a “massacre” against Christians.
The Nigerian authorities have been lavish in their denial of an obvious truth. They claim it’s not only Christians being killed, Muslims are also murdered. They have conveniently forgotten Traditionalists or even atheists.
The fact still remains that people are being murdered. I wonder if we still live in a civilized world. I’m not saying crimes are a taboo in other countries. All I’m asking is whether the authorities are not sitting too pretty?
The authorities should be burying their faces in the shame of their malgovernance. If the first duty of government is to protect the people, they have obviously failed in that regard.
