As today’s a Sunday, without being churchy I can answer Nathaniel’s question when he asked in John 1:45, if anything good could come out of Nazareth that good things are coming out of the Nigerian senate.
And indeed, I can go on and quote another passage which says, “…the stone rejected by you the builders, which has become the cornerstone. “
I’m so pleased with the deliberations and resolution of the senate yesterday.
In the first instance, they refused to approve permission for the president to go to war, along with his faction of ECOWAS, with Niger.
By the way, should war be the next agenda Nigeria should pursue?
Methinks the president wanted to use war to divert the attention of Nigerians from the needless perennial problems citizens of Nigeria are facing. I refuse to say two other things that are coming to my mind.
Even if Nigeria goes to war, the West will not have the time and resources to assist as it’s already occupied with the needless invasion of Ukraine by Russia and its effects.
Meanwhile, Russia is waiting to assist Niger.
That war is as good as lost even before starting.
The other thing the Nigerian senate did was to approve the appointment of a person who had been against the Nigerian state for various reasons. He even described the senate as a group of morons.
But the senate saw his usefulness to the Nigerian state which one of the senators refer to as “choking”.
I had thought the senate was just a rubber stamp for the executive’s wishes. I believe if the senate continues, a new dawn will eventually rise!
