Yesterday, it was Queens College!
Today, it’s Babcock University!
Why is it that we hardly hear good news about Nigeria?
Two Babcock University students went to have unprotected sex. Unfortunately for them, it was recorded. It has now become an issue.
The escapade of the couple didn’t happen within the University campus, so how come the University has expelled the girl. The boy’s own is understandable because he has been expelled for other reasons.
By jove, these are young adults. It’s nobody’s business if anyone of them decides to be disvirgined. In any case, copulation is supposed to be a personal issue.
Apart from that, I’m just against the idea of having glorified secondary schools as universities. Young adults are to obey so many rules that their lecturers were not exposed to during their university days.
I understand the issue is so serious that a certain vice chancellor was alleged to have caned students.
Aha?
In a University?
Students’ self expression is curtailed! So, are other rights.
If they are not exposed to freedom in the university, how do we expect them to fit in to a society which already has its own problems?
I’m sure we’ve not heard the last of the Babcock issue!
