With the imprisonment of Bobrisky, I would have thought most of us should be free. But wait a minute, how many of us can boldly say we haven’t sprayed the Naira?
I’m reliably informed that apart from stomping on the troubled currency, there are other ways people could be guilty of “mutilation”. For instance, if you write on the currency, if you rumple it, if you put it in your underwear, and so on.
By the way, is there any law incriminating musicians who accept the money?
I don’t really believe the guy was punished for that offense. I also believe the holy justice should have recused herself from the case As a person, she was miffed by the very character of the accused.
Of course, she’s entitled to her emotions. But then, she shouldn’t have allowed her emotions to sway her judgment in such a sensitive case.
Meanwhile, there is a reference point. Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin alias Simi Gold was found guilty of a similar offense in February 2023. She was sentenced to 6 months in jail WITH an option of fine.
How many Nigerians can truthfully say they’ve not mutilated the Naira at one time or the other?
I suspect the guy is being punished for some other reason which most Nigerians know.
I’m not a fan of the mummy Lagos, but the truth must be said!
