I had wanted to call for the programme to start on an annual personal ritual. However, for two reasons, I’ve realized that it is best to bring it forward by about 100 hours.
First, I’m going through a personal experience which further reinforces my feelings that we’re only living on borrowed time. The Owner of our lives could decide to pluck us like leaves at any time.
Second, I was watching a program on Facebook live this morning which made me fear for the specimen called male Nigerians.
The programme was about how Nigerian men treat their girlfriends who happen to be single mothers.
Tori full ground berekete!
I was especially saddened by the story of a single mother who was in need of an amount of money. As luck would have it, she came across an ex. The guy then showed interest in staying for the weekend.
The woman fed him with food and sex for the weekend. The saddest thing was that when our Romeo was leaving, he dropped only an amount that could best be described as nonsensical.
On that program, the consensus was that the Nigerian men of today are not worth their pants.
Actually, I had another thing in mind. Mine was essentially political and a bit social.
I mean men have been generally in the administration of various countries around the world. To a large extent, it’s a man’s world.
Yet, the world is hardly at peace.
Why don’t we carry the battle to the foundation? Let’s attack the scourge from the grassroots.
Since the boys of today will be the fathers and decision-makers of tomorrow, is it not possible to give the boys mentoring?
I believe when they are given this coupled with psychological boosting, we’ll have a better world!
