If you’ve ever had the opportunity to look at Nigeria from afar, I bet you wouldn’t need to invest in the Tom and Jerry series of cartoons.
Why?
Must you waste your money on Tom and Jerry when we have a ready-made one in Nigeria and Nigerians?
Are Nigerians not busy debating on Prof. Soyinka’s saying Obi came third in far away South Africa. I would have thought the prof had a right to his opinion. But for Nigerians, if a person disagrees with their own opinions, he’s done for.
They’ve refused to realize Soyinka has only one vote! We know him as a celebrated Nobel laureate, an activist, a humanist, a connoisseur of wines, etc but he’s yet to be appointed a judge,
Is Nigeria not the country where a former head of state and civilian president had the audacity to order some traditional rulers to stand up and greet him?
But then, the traditional rulers – all of them – promptly obeyed. That none could refuse the sacrilege still baffles me!
So, a former president is no longer an ordinary man or traditional rulers should be prostrating for anyone that’s their senior in age?
I really don’t get it!
