The Home Office has chartered special flights to deport nearly 20 migrants back to France under the one-in, one-out deal.

The Independent reports that nine migrants were placed on a specially commissioned passenger jet to be returned to France on Thursday, following a similar one deporting 10 migrants last Friday.

In the previous fortnight, seven small-boat migrants were deported to France on Air France passenger jets.

The number of Channel migrants so far deported under the one-in, one-out scheme is now 26.

It comes a day after 1,075 migrants arrived on 15 dinghies on Wednesday, bringing the total number of arrivals since the start of the year to 35,476. The total number of small-boat migrants since Labour came to power has now reached 58,718. The record for daily arrivals is 1,305, set on Sept. 3, 2022.

The Home Office also announced 18 legitimate asylum seekers have been flown from France in the past two weeks under the reciprocal one-in, one-out deal.
