Time to rethink! by Adewale Sobowale

I used to think three places must be visited by those consciously and unconsciously seeking the end of mankind by their sadistic actions. They are the mortuary, the graveyard and the “point of no return” dotting various coasts of Africa where slaves said the final goodbye to their fatherland during the transatlantic slave trade.

I’ll find time to explain the reasons behind my thinking on a more auspicious occasion.

But I was convinced to add the various World War Museums to the list when I visited the World War Special Section of the Royal Ontario Museum today.

I saw the extent to which man’s inhumanity to fellow man could be extended.

In a bid to eliminate other races apart from the so-called Aryan race, the regime of Adolf Hitler committed so many crimes only sadistic non-bumans could ever think of.

What beats my imagination is the fact that some people are still planning what could be the end of humanity.

I should think the brotherhood of man as preached by Peter Abraham in his book, Mine Boy, should be man’s watchword.
