It is reported that the federal government has instructed that CRK and IRK must be returned to the curriculum as separate subjects.
That’s great, isn’t it?
However, if indeed we are operating a secular constitution, is it right to have the teaching of ANY religious subject in government schools?
I believe religion is a personal thing.
Very personal!
Whatever religious knowledge our children must have should be imparted within the various families. Or are we so busy that we are leaving it to the schools. By the way, how many families have time for morning prayers?
I quite understand the need to evangelise. That’s why the churches and mosques are there.
And, in any case, those who want religious education for their wards are always free to send them to missionary schools.
OK, if it is agreed that the problems of our nation can only be solved by religion, would it not be fair to introduce even the teaching of traditional African religious studies to our schools?
Justice must be done!
