Traitors!!! – Adewale Sobowale

The last time I went through the Nigerian constitution, there were provisions for human rights. I mean right to human life, right to human dignity, right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, etc

To cap it all there was even the right of any and all Nigerian(s) to live in any part of the country.

Those parts must have been erased from the constitution. If not, we would not be having all these killings which no one in authority seems to care about.

There have been so many unwarranted killings in the land. However, I am referring to the incessant killings in Kaduna now.

Human life is so cheap in Kaduna now that once a blood thirsty idiot decides a person does not deserve to live, so be it. Did I just type one person? No, a group of people!

The images I have been seeing, of the senseless and inhumane killings, are so gory that I have decided to spare the readers of this post the unsavoury sight.

When some people called Nigeria a zoo, I didn’t see any reason for them to do so. But, I am now calling Nigeria a deep jungle and its inhabitants should be called jungleans.

Anywhere such a thing is happening has retrogressed into the Hobbesian state of nature where men are beasts and life is no longer safe.

Is life safe in Nigeria?

It isn’t!

Life in this country is chaotic.

No water, no light, no money and to cap it all, human, not chicken life, is not assured. But then some people are supposed to be at the helm of affairs.

What are the security votes, which they collect monthly, being used for? If they could use half of the sum gathering and managing intelligence, I believe we won’t be in this sorry state.

However, it is not impossible that they want the status quo to remain. But then, I think the first duty of any Nigerian is the protection of the constitution.

Those who are lucky to be elected have an additional responsibility to defend the constitution. Those who are not ready should either resign or be booted out.

And whose responsibility is it to boot them out? The people. Which people? Nigerians. These Nigerians are not ready for that, at least not for now!
