I’m aware that dependence is the opposite of independence. But Nigeria is also a country full of contradictions.
How can a country be so rich in natural and even man-made resources and still remain a beggarly nation?
It’s unnecessary to mention Nigeria’s resources since even non-Nigerians agree the nation is naturally blessed.
Anyway, that’s not even the main point of this post. I’m just hearing that the president’s wife has launched a national unity fabric.
Of course!
It’s a pointer that these people have totally lost touch with the masses. According to the news, the cloth will be worn nationwide to celebrate Independence Day on October 1.
I’m yet to know the people who will qualify to put on the national aso ebi.
Could it be the people suffering from the fuel price hike? Could it be those suffering from hunger, starvation, or impending famine?
Could it be those suffering from “No Nepa”?
I suggest turning the fabric into a national uniform. All Nigerians should wear it, including the president, state governors, legislators, the military, the police, the traditional rulers, pupils, students, workers, etc.
The deceased who are lucky to be buried in the national fabric will get to heaven or al-Jannah straight, even if they had committed unforgivable sins in their lifetime.
Boko Haram militants will surely welcome the national fabric.
Even the national flag should be changed into the hallowed fabric.
Meanwhile, people who were the national fabric won’t have to pay for any services or goods bought. They won’t have to pay when they get to the petrol station. They won’t have to pay house rent if they wear the national fabric. To crown it all, if they enter buses, the conductor will give them a free ride if they are on the national fabric.
Ki lo dun to arun iba?
What’s as good as having a fever?
Of course, the country will have permanent unity, and everyone will be glued together!
