I understand a committee set up by the APC is now looking into restructuring in order to support it.
Oh well, I tend to think it’s a ruse. In the first instance, the President in many of his remarks has shown that restructuring would be the last thing he’s going to support.
I wouldn’t blame Mr President. He is a retired soldier. He happened to have participated in the civil war. Just like Dr Olusegun Obasanjo, who also does not believe in restructuring.
I think, for soldiers, it’s psychological. How can you expect people to have fought for the unity of Nigeria and support its ‘fragmentation’.
Except for those people who are really liberated, it would be a heavy task to expect military men to support restructuring.
So, for the APC to now say they are considering the issue, ‘e get as e be’.
Does it not amount to contradicting the president’s position? Or should we take it that Mr President is a new convert?
Personally, until I am corrected, I have my doubts. I tend to think that APC is getting jittery. Especially considering the fact that come next year, we’ll be going into general elections.
It’s a case of records. What record does APC have for us to assume that the party is not selling us a dummy?
Most people thought the party will make a difference considering the fact that its mantra was change. We thought we were going to have a change for a better lifestyle. But your guess is as good as mine.
It is no gainsaying the fact that sincere Nigerians are in a state of flux. They hardly know what to do.
We have spread our bedspread on thorns!
