I can’t help asking, even if for the umpteenth time, where we got it all wrong.
I mean Nigerians!
I spent time searching for the Oluwo of Iwo interview. Thanks to Ma’am Doyinsola Ilori who furnished me with a video evidence of the Oluwo’s latest rascality.
What manner of thinking?
Let’s even assume the western world is owing us some money or resources, is it the best we could do to use egbe or afeeri to storm their reserves?
As long as money reigns supreme in the choice of obas, we’ll continue to have charlatans being imposed on us.
In politics, we know it’s when the people are ready that they will free themselves. I think we should also add the traditional institutions to the list.
It’s like our traditional institutions can not help themselves. The least I could say about them is that they stink with various shades of immorality.
They’ve sunk so low that they hardly recognize the culture of our people. If they do not understand our culture, how can we expect them to teach it?
Oluwo is a representation of most of the new obas who didn’t have time to imbibe valuable education about the history of their people. I happen to believe that you aren’t in a position to give what you don’t have.
And we’ll keep thinking thieves will come from outside. In fact, the little we’ve seen of Oluwo is enough encouragement for the impressionable youth.
