Just thought we should appreciate the Nigerian Armed Forces for winning a considerable part of the war against Boko Haram.
It has been a long, tedious and wearisome war. Naturally, it costs the nation a lot in personnel and materials.
We bless God that an end is coming to the needless war. However, the lessons of the war must not be lost on the people and the government.
Especially the government.
If government can provide the basic needs of life at affordable rates, ordinary people will not be attracted to agents of destruction even if their mouths are sweeter than honey. Government must make available the environment for industries to thrive.
Government should look into the issue of social benefit allowance. If a person doesn’t have a job, government should consider giving them an amount to tide them by until they get employed.
And the people? We should be vigilant and be responsible enough to report abnormal situations to the authorities. We should be our brothers’ keepers.
However, it may not be Uhuru yet until the remaining Chibok girls are found. In fact, I don’t know what the parents of those girls will be feeling with the announcement that the BH war is drawing to a close without them seeing their children.
Until those girls are found, the Book Haram war can not be said to have been ended!!!
