That Mr Mohammed Buhari, the Nigerian President is ill is
not news again. That he’s on medical tourism in the UK is stale news.

However, without counting his various sick leaves in the past, this time around, he has spent one hundred days in the UK. All on going for medical treatment.

Men like Buhari are precious to this nation. So, we still want to be seeing them around. They are part of Nigeria’s history.

Indeed, they are Nigeria’s history.

But then, if Mr Buhari as a private citizen should employ a person to head his farm and the person is always ill, due to no fault of the farm director. What will Mr Buhari do?

We all know that anybody can be ill. However, if a person’s illness is constituting a drawback to a nation, I think we should appeal to the person to reconsider his terms of employment.

I know Mr Buhari is a patriot, and he would not like any arm to befall this nation because of a single person. Even if that person happens to be himself.

I know some people would have been telling him that he can stay in power for as long as he doesn’t contravene any section of the constitution. I believe those people are leeches feeding off Mr Buhari’s presidency.

Mr Buhari, you are better off not being president. You’ll even be able to take better care of yourself.

I’m sure you know it will be on the taxpayer’s bill.

Mr Buhari, you don’t have to wait until your executive council does the needful.

It is always better to leave while the ovation is loudest.
