Oh yes!
Police go arrest taya!
I noticed a popularly controversial singer, or is it a controversially famous singer(?) has been running from pillar to post pleading with the EFCC and people who know some people who know those in power that he shouldn’t be arrested because of the money he’d been spraying is for the masses, the talakawas, the atenus, the chop and quench, etc.
But he should not be annoyed with his Chi or Eleda for letting him commit the yet-to-be-alleged offence. After all, we’re all in this together.
For him, the so-called offence is like a talking drum in that it will surely turn its back to another person when it faces someone.
But seriously, what evidence does the EFCC have? How can they prove the sprayed money is not a dummy or token? I’m no lawyer, but experience has taught me that evidence is a pertinent key in law.
Is video evidence enough to prove the genuity of a currency?
Again, if someone sprays in dollars, since the dollar is not a Nigerian currency, will he still be arrested? Or is the act of spraying the problem here?
The EFCC arrest is getting infectious; that’s a good one. However, let’s hope it reaches those in the corridors of power.
If our prayers are not effective, the prisons will be overcrowded!
Those of us who have “mistakenly” sprayed the naira at one point or another should resort to what we know how to do best: praying. We need it because we can’t say if we’ve been recorded while spraying.
