I was more than humbled today!
Normally, I don’t obey the order of sleeping for eight hours at a go. Why should I? Apart from writing, reading and socialising, other things might crop up.
Besides, I don’t like being held up in a straitjacket!
I woke up at 2 a.m. this morning and was working on a manuscript. Around 5 a.m., I got a call from Messenger. Since I was occupied with other things, the person on the other end dropped the call.
I went to check the person calling and discovered it was Ayodeji Olaniyi Oluwadare, a five-star athlete who was my housemaster. I then called him back.
When he picked, he said he wanted me to be part of a video call with Samuel Fatusin who was getting married in Ekiti State. Another mate of theirs, Damola Adeniregun was the best man.
Unfortunately, the service had started when I called.
We had to make the video call after the service. After gisting with the three gentlemen, I prayed with Samuel for a lifelong union. He later introduced the wife to me, and I also prayed for a life-long union.
But I’m feeling so humbled that the young men of those days could remember a little me!
