How many Nigerians have noticed that the further we are from October 1, 1960, the more poverty-stricken our society is?
And, I’m talking of poverty in all ramifications!
Let’s look at Indonesia and Japan, for instance. In what stage of development were they at Nigeria’s independence? Where are they now?
I remember we used to have pipe-borne water in my elementary school days, not so long ago. We also had good electric power supply, good roads, etc.
And that was before the days of the oil boom.
My submission is that we are missing something somewhere as a people. Only when we get it right as a people can we have good governance!
