I really don’t care about the political shenanigans that have led the Kwara State government to the point of demolishing a house for the elderly.
All I know is if something is bad, we shouldn’t blink an eyelid in declaring it as bad.
The elderly are taken care of in saner climes. They are given a lot of comfort for the little time they have to spend on this side of the earth.
Incidentally, I was talking with an elderly man yesterday. He lives a couple of streets from me. He’s from Greece.
He was jovial about his last days. He said he was living in a house where he hoped to die and be transferred to the cemetery.
What could have led an executive governor to this ‘babanla nonsense’?
Does he have elderly people amongst his kith and kin? Does he hope to become old?
Okay, let’s even agree he would spend eight years in power, does he not know there’s life after power?
At least, he’s getting ‘prayers’ from those he has made homeless!
The action of the governor portrays him as a cruel person. We certainly don’t need such unfeeling personalities in the corridors of power!
