The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of three suspects in the killing of one of its own.
I recall an incident that happened eons ago. One of late MKO’s son was involved in an altercation with with some air force officers. The Basorun had to come in and he was detained by the officers.
It took the then State House at Dodan barracks to resolve the issue. One striking statement by a top officer was that military men were mad dogs.
Now, in his ‘august’ address, the air force spokesman mentioned the fact that the suspects would be handed over to the police.
In Nigeria, the fear of the military is the beginning of wisdom. The military is even used to settle scores outside the barracks. Could it be that we now have a brand new air force?
I’m asking the question because in a ‘normal’ circumstance, the suspects would have been summarily dealt with. Please note the fact that the act resulted in an officer’s death.
For those who believe the late Tolu was in good terms with some of her superior officers, it’s possible they did not read the statements of some of her family members.
