In Dubai, the government has embarked on a crackdown on ramshackle houses whose landlords let out illegally.
AP reports that some landlords let houses with cramped space, no privacy, and some with rooms lined with bunk beds. Some are partitioned with plywood boards, drywall, plastic shower curtains. They are cheap and are let out to low-paid foreign laborers.
