Authorities in the U.K. are offering a stick-and-carrot approach to get asylum seekers out of the country.
SkyNews reports that they are being offered thousands of pounds to move to the East African country of Rwanda. However, those who refuse the “kind” gesture may be unable to work or claim benefits in the UK officially.
The offer, a new “voluntary” system drawn up by the government, applies to those refused asylum in the UK.
The move is reported to be different from the government’s plans to send migrants to Rwanda to have their claims processed. The new scheme is planned to remove migrants who have no legal right to stay in the UK but cannot be returned to their country.
