I witnessed a scene yesterday afternoon and I began to worry. A ‘uniformed’man arrested a driver for unauthorized parking.
The arrested man begged, but the ‘officer’ insisted he had to pay a fine of four thousand Naira. The vehicle had been chained, anyway.
The vehicle owner then tricked our officer to remove the chain so that they could go and ‘settle’. Our officer foolishly entered the vehicle and pronto, he was driven away.
The foolish man found himself in a place where the actions and inactions of Government did not please the people. He had to make good his escape with his tail hidden between hIs legs.Who wan die?
By the way, I don’t know of any public parking space in the area where the incidence occurred. Drivers are expected to park on the roads. But if it so happens that a vehicle is burgled, nobody is bothered. Yet, tickets are issued for parking.
Have we started experiencing the civil disobedience that happens before a revolution?
