Weren’t our elders right,
when they said
luxury of getting old
came with a price,
of witnessing the not too pleasant?
Unfortunately,
since we are earnestly praying
to get old,
there is nothing we could have done;
we even pray to use
our toothless molars
to nibble on kolanuts,
being clueless, we enjoy being,
prisoners of our normal
in zany zero-mindedness!
Since we are suffering from gullibility,
we fail to recognize an obvious falsehood,
pretence has been personified,
fakery is the norm,
we live in a cocoon of lies,
we hardly believe our shadows,
since we live in a world of make-believe!
Stead of organic peace,
we would rather have diplomatic peace,
where everyone is watchful
of each other’s actions!
But our laws still favoured
the high and mighty,
forsaking the vulnerable
to enjoy hell on earth!
We were filled with hope,
when our world became a village,
thinking that would have united us,
not knowing it would be our nemesis!

Nuclear power is a great idea,
with promises of
clean electricity,
life-saving medical diagnostics,
global food safety and
industrial and space innovation!
We would have surprised ourselves,
if we had emphasized positive usage of nuclear power,
we settled for deadly nuclear weapons,
as we enjoy destroying each other,
in unnecessary conflicts and wars,
sooner than later, Armaggedon beckons!
We’re failing in our personal relationships,
simply because we don’t observe the golden rule;
that is to do unto others,
what we want them to do to us!
And, that’s the crux of the matter,
before we inflict pain,
I mean, whatever pain, on others,
let’s take a pin and pinch ourselves.
Let’s just imagine the pain –
how much more,
other parties!
I know we could do better –
much better –
in making our world the best,
if not for us,
at least, for our wards!
