A gubernatorial aspirant and daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Iyabo Obasanjo, has congratulated Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
NaijaNews reports that Obasanjo also announced that she has withdrawn from the race and dropped her 2027 governorship ambition.
She announced in a statement signed on Monday, April 13, 2026, following the adoption of Yayi for the APC ticket at a caucus meeting of the party held in Abeokuta.
