Voting began yesterday in the 2026 municipal election, with six days of advance voting ahead of official election day later this month.

Toronto Today reports that advance voting runs until Sunday, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Election day is Oct. 26, when polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters will choose Toronto’s next mayor, city councillors, and, if eligible, school board trustees. There are 53 certified candidates running for mayor, 190 running for city council, and 118 running for school board trustee, according to the City of Toronto.

There are 50 advance voting locations across Toronto, with two in each of the city’s 25 wards.

During advance voting, eligible voters can cast a ballot at either of the two advance voting locations in the ward where they live.

You can find your ward and advance voting locations using the City of Toronto’s MyVote tool.

MyVote can also be used to check whether you are on the voters’ list, to view a sample ballot, see the candidates running in your ward and download or print a digital voter information card.

Advance voting locations may differ from the location assigned to you on election day.

On Oct. 26, voters must go to the voting location assigned to their qualifying Toronto address. That information is also available through MyVote and on voter information cards.
