Relatives of the murdered hostages have criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Hana Cohen, the aunt of Inbar Hayman, wrote sarcastically, “thanking” Netanyahu, while blaming him for his “war of destruction” which caused Hayman to be returned “in a coffin.”

Hayman’s remains were returned from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. He was buried on Friday. She was murdered while attending the Nova music festival, and her remains were held in Gaza for over two years.

However, Hana expressed gratitude to all the people who helped in bringing her niece’s remains home.

Zoli Gyongyosi, brother-in-law of Smadar and Roee Idan who were murdered in Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the October 7 massacre also criticized Netanyahu. He and his wife have adopted Idan’s three children.

He wrote that he has waited for hostages to come home before saying what is “on his heart.” Since Avigail Idan, Smadar and Roee’s daughter returned from captivity, he has become “a national sweetheart,” as he did not say what he thought about October 7, according to him.

If he spoke his mind, people would say he is “left-wing, or anti-Netanyahu,”. Before his criticism, he said he is not “left-wing,” and has been “a Likud man from the first day I stepped into the polling station.”

He said, there is a “big but” to his feelings, as the government, “who were responsible for this disaster,” never sent a representative, made a phone call, shared in the families’ grief, or ask for forgiveness from either Gyongyosi or “the three orphans who were left without parents because of them.

“That, in my eyes, is the minimum,” that the government needed to do.
