The federal government of Canada has laid out a five-pillar approach to boosting border security. But it doesn’t include specifics about where and how the $1.3 billion funding package earmarked in the fall economic statement will be allocated.
CTV News reports that the announcement is a sequel to the threat of US President-elect Donald Trump that he would impose a 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian imports unless Canada halts the flow of illegal drugs and migrants over the shared border.
