A bill aimed at deporting pro-Eritrean government Eritrean migrants has reportedly been introduced in the Knesset Plenum, according to the Times of Israel.

Borkeva reports that the bill has already passed a preliminary reading in Parliament with a 51-0 vote. Yisrael Beytend MK Yulia Matinovsky, Member of Knesset, sponsored the Bill. The Times of Israel quoted Malinovsky as saying, “I visited South Tel-Aviv this week and was exposed to the chaos taking place there. The main perpetrators of crime are the Eritrean regime supporting infiltrators.” She described the bill as “the first step toward restoring security and peace to the residents of South Tel Aviv.”

An estimated 20,000 Eritreans reside in Israel.
