There used to be a saying that there’s no space for Apala music abroad. For those who didn’t know “apala” is a traditional music of the Yoruba.
In Oba Orin, a Nigerian movie starring Musiliu Haruna Ishola, Saheed Osupa, Lateef Adedimeji, Bimpe Adedimeji, Aishat Lawal, to mention a few, the message is passes vividly that we shouldn’t think less of anyone.
I must commend the camaraderie of the actors. It’s not easy to find two big musicians acting roles in a movie. As for the “regular” actors, I should praise them for such a beautiful performance.
