While I don’t really like spreading negative stories about Nigeria, it has occurred to me that the people seem to be self-destructing.
Or, how can anyone explain people hawking their consciences to the highest bidder? It wouldn’t have been a surprise if this had been limited to the ill-educated.
However, even the so-called educated people also sell their birthrights. I refer to them as so-called because if a person listens to some of their thoughts, he’s bound to wonder if they have ever attended school.
In other words, they might have passed through the school, but evidently, the school never passed through them.
Nigeria is in an election period. Politicians are enjoying themselves. Yes, they are doing the task of buying and selling votes.
In other words, conscience is being sold!
The future is being bargained!!
Birthright is sold for a ha’penny!!!
If that’s the case, it could have been understood if they were doing fair business. However, I’m so surprised that the people are selling themselves short.
It’s a gbanjo market!!!
One could get into a political office for some gari and kuli kuli!
A kongo of rice could also get someone a political office!!
But any discernible person should ask, how long will the gari and rice last?
Could our people think?
