The United States has announced that it will provide the Democratic Republic of Congo with $414 million in humanitarian aid.
Over 25 million people, almost a quarter of the population, require such aid.
Jeffrey Prescott, US Ambassador to the United Nations Agency for Food and Agriculture, revealed that a significant amount of money would be released to United Nations agencies and aid groups providing urgent food assistance, healthcare, nutrition support, shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Since October, it has taken total US funding for DRC, since October, to $838 million.
