According to the Nigeria Customs Services, the Apapa Port in Nigeria generated 1.2 trillion naira in revenue between January and July.
The Cable reports that the Comptroller of Customs, Babatunde Olomu, said the command collected 201.8 billion naira in July. He also said the revenue collected for seven months is higher than the total revenue of 1.17 trillion naira collected for the 12 months of 2022.
He said the success was due to implementing the time release study (TRS) to facilitate trade.
He said, “I am optimistic about the possibility of beating this record as we look forward to surpassing it in months to come.”
He also said the intervention from the tariff and trade department also contributed to the successes achieved by the command.
