A dentist from east Jerusalem was arrested on Thursday for media posts praising Hamas and inciting violence, Israel Police announced.
The Jerusalem Post reports that police began their investigation after the suspect made a post on social media featuring the slogan “This is jihad – victory or martyrdom.” Over the course of their investigation, they discovered otber materials supporting terrorism and inciting violence, shared by the suspect on social media or saved on his mobile phone.
The suspect was arrested by police detectives on Thursday and taken to the station. He was then taken to the Magistrate’s Court in Jerusalem on Friday, where his detention was extended until January 12 for continued investigation.
