I love the Yoruba language. Of course, the Yoruba are a people mostly found in the Southwest of Nigeria.
One of their songs is,
‘Yokolu yokolu,
Ko ha tan bi,
Iyawo gbo’ko sanle,
Oko yo’ke’.
The song is normally sung to make jest of people who could have done better and prevent an impending doom.
One saying of the Yoruba I can’t forget is, ‘Omi titan leyin eja’.
The saying is indicative of the fact that there’s no hiding place for the wicked.
That the Northern elders could ask Buhari to resign is enough for the incumbent and his criminal collaborators to realize it’s time to go.
In fact, it’s a much needed red card!
But as we know, nobody resigns from the juicy government appointments in Nigeria.
This could have been a time for the national assembly to begin proceedings for the impeachment of Mr Buhari. Unfortunately, they are partners in lootocracy.
As for the people, they are like rain drenched dogs with tails between their hind legs.
God save our nation!
