The Immigration Department of Tanzania has launched a month-long verification exercise targeting residence permits and other immigration statuses of foreign nationals working and residing in that country.

The Citizen reports that the exercise officially began on September 11 and will run until October 8, 2025. It will cover all regions according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Immigration Department.

The Department confirmed that the notice circulating online was automatic and urged employers, business owners, and foreign residents to comply with the directives.

Authorities emphasised that the exercise seeks to ensure compliance with immigration laws and enhance oversight of foreign nationals in the country
