While not begrudging the organizers of BBN and, of course, the eventual winner, either, I just have a feeling that governor Abiodun of Ogun state did something too much in his recognition of Lekan who happens to be from the state.
Apart from the deluge of gifts, including 85 million naira and an SUV which he got from the organizers and others, Abiodun appointed the guy a youth ambassador, gave him a three bedroom flat and also a 5 million naira gift.
While I won’t comment on his being given a post, I personally object to the house and the money.
In a state where so many people are homeless, where so many schools lack libraries, where so many roads are gullies, I believe our governor could have done better, in fact, much better.
By the way, has the governor recognized any academic achievement?
