It was a honeyish Saturday, the one my people will call a Saturday oloyin. Instead of choosing boredom, I chose to wine and dine in a restaurant.

The attractions were definitely many. Right from the location in a mall, to the neatly laid tables, to the cool music and even the dimly lit interior.

There was a great conviviality in the atmosphere, the food was just awesome, so were the ice cold drinks.

Of course, water could be poisonous there!

People came in their dozens, Africans, Caribbeans, Europeans and Asians. All came to worship their stomachs.

Entertainment in some places never came easy but it was worth it. That was because nobody appeared to be cheated.

The clients wouldn’t have spent their bucks on worthless things. The sellers would normally struggle to offer their best because there was some sort of healthy competition.

The government on their own part, as long as they were satisfying people, were not complaining.

Yeah!

No society is perfect, but then comparing here with some other brutish society is just like comparing life with death.

One could definitely be condemned as a harami!

Being aware of the imperfections, the people and the government are definitely trying to make things better. And that’s the essence of a government of the people by the people and for the people.

Since my friends have been telling me to desist from poking my big nose into Nigerian politics, I would keep on saying what Nigeria could have been.

With Sowore still a prisoner of conscience, even after a court of competent jurisdiction has granted him bail, democracy cannot be said to exist in Nigeria!
