Our people in Nigeria seem to have resigned to fate. I say this with a lot of distaste.
Distaste because I just feel that under no circumstances, must a dislike for evil deeds should be stopped. But our people seem to have lost their voices.
I’m referring specifically to the recent kidnap of over 200 pupils in Kaduna state. While the media saw it as just another story, social media apps users are generally quiet about the dastardly act.
Meanwhile, the foreign media outlets are mentioning it every moment! That’s because they see it as being against the values of a progressive society.
We are seemingly waiting for the next crime to be committed. Guess crimes are now orgiastic for us. Are we waiting for our own turn?
We are gradually losing those things that make us unique as a people. We are losing our Africanness.
Indeed we have been captured!
