Somalia becomes member of UN Security Council!

Somalia has won a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

BBC reports that the move received applause as a milestone for the war-ravaged nation.

It will be the first time the country has held the position since the 1970s.

The top table at the UN determines how the organization should respond to conflicts worldwide.
