Nine out of ten of the world’s most neglected displaced people are in Africa..

The Norwegian Refugee Council’s annual report says Burkina Faso is leading the table for the second consecutive year. Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Niger, Honduras, South Sudan, the Central Arab Republic, Chad and Sudan follow it.

Jan Egeland, the secretary-general of NRC said, “The utter neglect of displaced people has become the new normal.”

An internally displaced person is a person who has been forced to run from their home with little or no belongings to seek shelter elsewhere in the same country. They flee because they fear for their lives.
