Luke 2:29 – Adewale Sobowale

According to a narrative, Simeon was an old, devoted Jew whom God had promised that he wouldn’t die until he had seen the Messiah. After the Saviour was born, His parents brought Him to the temple for consecration.

So when they brought Him to the temple, old Simeon held the little Jesus in his hands and uttered the Nunc Dimitis,

‘Lord now lettest thy servant depart in peace according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation….’

In my lifetime, Nigeria might just be okay soon. This is because the right people are slowly but gradually inching towards their rightful places in governance.

The Chief Executive Officer of Journal Communications Limited, Mr Wale Adedayo has declared his intention to vie for a seat in the House of Representatives. Journal Communications Limited are the publishers of Uhuru Times.

Adedayo has an intimidating CV. He was educated at Olabisi Onabanjo and Cardiff Universities.

He served as a foreign affairs reporter for the ‘flagship of the Nigerian press,’ The Guardian Newspapers. From there he became the Assistant Editor (Politics) of The Punch group of newspapers.

He was grabbed from journalism by politics. He became the Director of Organisation of the PDP, Ogun State between 2004 and 2007. He subsequently became the Chief Press Secretary to the Ogun State Government between 2007 and 2009.

He wrote a book, ‘Microseconds Away From Death’, after his unceremonious exit from government.

That he has shown interest is enough for most people. He can be said to be a man of the people. He is nicknamed Babalawo for his strong belief in the African tradition.

If he is elected, there’s no doubting the fact that he would put his diverse experience to the service of the people. I believe the House could do with his experience.

Generally, I hardly support any politician. However, I fully support Wale Adedayo’s ambition!

However, Wale doesn’t have any choice but to perform. If he doesn’t or on getting to Abuja, he decides to join the egbekegbe of looters, I’ll be one of the first to cry out.

To whom much is given, much is expected!!!
