Russia donates 25 tons of food aid to Somalia

Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Abdifatah Qasim  Mohamud, accompanied by the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahmoud Moalim Abdulie, on Friday received a food aid donation from the Ambassador of Russia to Somalia and Djibouti, Mikhail Golovanov, who is on a working visit to Somalia.

The assistance, totaling 25 tons of food supplies, was donated by the Russian Government to support the Somali people in addressing humanitarian challenges facing the country. The aid was officially handed over to SoDMA, the lead agency responsible for national disaster response and management.

For his part, Ambassador Mikhail Golovanov stated that the Russian Government will continue standing in solidarity with the Somali people, particularly during times of humanitarian crises and emergency needs.

Finally, the Commissioner of SoDMA, Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, welcomed the humanitarian assistance delivered to the Somali people and expressed appreciation to the Russian Government for its continued support and contribution to humanitarian and emergency relief efforts in Somalia.
