Would it not have been better if the governor had introduced a more modern way of producing gari to his people? But they know us and they will keep pushing us over as long as we refuse to borrow some sense.
There’s every possibility that a special allowance awaits them for identifying with the people. And conversely, life remains the same for the poor people.
