We used to sing “Now the Day is Over” in my elementary school.
Considering the global situation, methinks the song was predicting the future, which is now.
But we could have an everlasting day if we are willing. I mean, when we stop the avoidably needless wars, which will stop the unnecessary killings and maimings, as well as all the indignities that happen in an unstable world.
The global economic impact of violence and war is estimated to be over $19 trillion annually.Meanwhile, ending world hunger by 2030 would cost about $330 billion annually.
We should make the world a better place, Better than it was before our sojourn on earth.
And this is quite simple: we should elect those who represent our wishes, … our conscience, … our values, … into the corridors of power.
Let it be a thing of the past that we should be influenced into voting for people who do not represent any iota of our values into power.
I do believe man is intrinsically good. However, we are shaped by our experiences. But what can it benefit a man to see people in unending conflicts, killings, maimings, and all that goes on in wars?
I’m not a motivational speaker, but I seek peace.
Given that we don’t have another world, we hardly have a choice but to make things better.
