Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday unveiled a new underground missile base amid tensions with the United States, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
The base was unveiled by Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi and Seyed Mousavi, commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division.
The capabilities and operational readiness of the IRGC’s missile units were assessed around the visit, and senior commanders of Iran’s armed forces were briefed on the progress and preparedness of the strategic unit.
Musavi said at the base that Iran has strengthened its deterrence power by upgrading its ballistic missiles across all technical dimensions.
On Sunday, Mousavi warned that Iran’s response to any mistake by the United States would set off a regional war, according to the official news agency IRNA.
