I’ll prefer Canna,
my mom wants Hibiscus
We can have all,
since it’s summer!
We’re gonna have long, long days
which will be scorchingly sunny!
Off with heavy layers
of wears in wintry days!
Some wore five jackets,
others three trousers
plus thermal coats!
They still froze
since cold couldn’t be kept at bay!
Times like those,
one couldn’t help being homesick,
where it’s dry thirteen months a year!
Now, summer
with countryside beckoning.
What about city pubs,
with bands playing outside?
Some eating out,
others taking drinks!
Some just gisting
while some are reflecting!
Visitors come calling,
children go playing,
couples go dancing
and singles go searching!
Seniors are left reflecting,
those who’ve preceded them
in transiting, thus not able
to see another summer!
