Over 50 migrants have died after a boat ferrying about 150 people capsized in bad weather on Sunday off Yemen’s coast.
ON MANORAMA reports that dozens are yet to be accounted for, according to health officials.
A provincial health official, Abdul Qadir Bajameel, said 10 of the passengers were rescued. Medics said rescuers were still looking for survivors.
According to the International Organization for Migration, Yemen continues to witness a significant increase in the influx of irregular migrants arriving from Africa. The body described the route as “one of the world’s busiest and most perilous mixed migration routes.”
