Philippino rights groups protest state of the nation address in the Philippines!

Philppino activists protested peacefully in Toronto on Sunday against the State of the Nation address expected to be presented by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez . Marcos Jr. on Monday.

Many of the speakers were naturally emotional in describing life in their fatherland. They said the few rulers were enjoying while the rest of the people lived in squalor, despite the riches in the land. Those who are not pleased with the situation generally flee the land.

The remaining people live in terrible conditions. Many become peasant farmers, and the few who are lucky to get office jobs are paid peanuts.

A speaker said Philippinos in Canada eventually face a culture shock, not being able to describe themselves as Canadians and not being able to go back home. Another predicted that the State of the Nation address that would be given by Marcos would be a tissue of lies.

The demonstration was held in Bathurst-Wilson Parkette in Downtown Toronto with no untoward event.
